The Future of Charging our Laptops: Electromagnetic Induction
In today’s world, we are all obsessed with convenience and speed especially when it comes to technology. The quest to discover and create something that will make our lives more convenient than they currently are is a never-ending journey. Whether we want to admit it or not, we depend a lot on our gadgets such as our mobile phones, laptops and tablets. We have to ensure that they have enough battery power to keep going through-out the day, as well as the night, for those who keep their devices switched on overnight. Because of this, manufacturers have tapped into something called Electromagnetic Induction, which has made the charging of our laptops and other devices wireless as well as more convenient.
The inductive charging of laptops uses the science of electromagnetic induction. Through the “manipulation of an electromagnetic field”, energy is transferred within a short distance between two objects—the transmitter and the receiver. The process involves a surface that will act as a transmitter and the receiving object is going to have a built-in coil underneath it to make the transfer of energy possible. As long as you have a proper sleeve or your laptop battery’s cover attached, you are good to go. Charging through electromagnetic induction holds a promise of convenience since the reality of carrying bulky laptop chargers everywhere we go is no longer convenient enough for us.
